SISTERS IN DISTRESS

Allah SWT says, “Men shall oversee the affairs of women with the bounties Allah has bestowed on them” (Al-Qur’an Surah An Nisaa 4:34 )

The Almighty does not say husbands, hence it is not limited to responsibilities within the confines of a marriage. Men in general are commanded to protect and care for women. Let no person question the divine wisdom of our Creator, when the instruction is so clear. In the same way that all mothers, sisters and daughters are not wives , not all wives have been blessed with husbands, fathers and brothers to protect and care for them throughout their lives. It is high time that we accept our responsibilities to humanity. How many of our mothers, sisters and daughters find themselves widowed or divorced, alone and struggling to maintain a home, struggling to feed and clothe the little children that have been left behind. We witness it all around us, yet we fail to see the tears of that woman suffering all alone, a woman trying her best with whatever the Almighty has provided to raise her kids the best way she can, all the while forgoing herself. The fact is, so often we look on and silently ease our consciences with ‘Allah will provide’. The Almighty never leaves anyone in a situation they cannot bear. While there is no truer statement, the reality is the Almighty has provided for all those in need through those he has blessed with abundance!!

It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to start making some sacrifices, for our own salvation. By the will and command of the Almighty, I beseech our communities to come together to find compassion , love and understanding in order to aid OUR sisters , we know all too well the strength bestowed on women , with the amazing ability she has to lift her head from a tear soaked pillow and still smile so her kids don’t share in her pain.

They already ask for nothing. Hence any little we do will most certainly make a significant difference. It is only through the will of the Almighty that we attempt to provide the necessary groceries required , as a bare minimum, every month. With your help we can do so much more than just the bare minimum.

We currently have a list of 40+ widowed or divorced single mothers in and around Gqeberha, however this list grows daily. It must be mentioned that many of these women are the same women we leave our kids with every day to educate. If this is not testament enough to how amazing these women are , then let this at least be the awakening we need to realise their value. Help us help them.
