As-Sukoon foundation was born in a supermarket parking lot with the distribution of 5 food parcels and week on week this idea grew not just by the numbers but by the projects too.
In Chapter 2, verse 274 of the Quran, Allah says:
“Those who spend their money in the night and in the day, secretly and openly, they will have their reward with their Lord, there is no fear over them nor will they grieve.” [Quran 2:274]
With the arrival of the pandemic, circumstances forced us to turn to the local community and businesses for assistance to extend our reach and with the mentorship and supervision by Moulana Shaheen Ismail and Imam Rieyaad Abrahams, the As Sukoon Foundation was made official. Based in the struggling province of the Eastern Cape, all our current projects originate here but are not limited to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). With time and the Blessings and guidance of the Almighty, we aim to come to the aid of all our neighbours in need of assistance. Charity begins at home and that’s where we plan to start with all South Africans, it being our home. Now we can remove the limitations of working in the shadows and do so much more to effect notable change for our struggling communities.
The Organization will hold its Annual General Meeting(AGM) June of every year and will be open to all members, contributors and volunteers. In the interest of 100% transparency the organisation Treasurer and Secretary will be contactable at any time for project updates on collections and spending. We pray the Almighty grant us the strength to fulfill his work with sincerity and humility and allow our efforts to attain success for this world and the hereafter. Let this Quest for contentment begin with the help of the Almighty.
